Due to the overwhelming amount of shield/sword submissions we get every day we will not accept shields that are not ready to be uploaded. Meaning, you MUST have transparencies set, you MUST use a proper template and you MUST NOT use solid black in your shields. This short guide will show you the fastest way to set transparencies on a shield/sword. It's quite simple.
1. Download paint.net from www.getpaint.net
2. Open your already made shield/sword in paint.net
3. Use the Magic Wand tool.
4. Click the background area (should be a color unlike the shield/sword)
5. MAKE SURE tolerance is set low. The lower the tolerance, the less shades of a color you select.
6. click ctrl + x
7. Profit. Save and MAKE SURE YOU'RE NOT USING SOLID BLACK
Will you upload them if they were sent without transparencies before you put this up? because I sent a shield (no transparencies) on July 20th and I have been waiting for a reply, and I really don't want to wait another 25 days for it to be uploaded because it doesnt have transparencies
ReplyDeleteWe aren't applying the rule for transparencies just yet because of that. :) It just speeds things up if you set them anyway.

ReplyDeleteNo, making the background black doesn't make it transparent. The only reason why black becomes transparent is because of the way the palette is set up on some programs.

ReplyDeleteNo, you'll need to download Paint.NET and use the Magic wand - there's instructions on this website telling you how to set transparencies.
